Missy Moo Knows - Do You?
Missy Moo has lived through many of life’s messy puzzles. The journey is complicated, confusing, and exhausting. After many a fall, she has embraced the opportunity to share stories of life lessons to make you laugh, maybe cry and think, “Ahh, now that makes sense!”
First up, the wild and 'windy' ride on the porcelain throne with Celiac Disease.
Celiac is an autoimmune disease whereby wheat gluten attacks the immune system leaving a trail of random non-sensical symptoms throughout the entire body, and that includes the mind, which is often forgotten. The reactions are so widespread that it's extremely difficult to pinpoint that gluten is the real culprit of it all. It is very much a 'let's try and see what happens' elimination process.
'A Windy Elimination Process'! Get it? If you have Celiac, you do!
The Big Picture
Missy Moo invites you to picture yourself standing in front of an abstract painting. You tilt your head, and say “What the F is all that about?”
Now imagine you are that painting and you cannot figure out how to finish even one brushstroke, leaving your abstact a complete mess! You start, get stuck, give up, walk away and go back at it again. Your whole sense of self is tied up in this canvas.
That is kinda what life with Celiac feels like, symptoms that you don't even know are symptoms and getting treated for a variety of possible reasons for why you feel like crap. The connection is wheat gluten and it takes over your body.
FACT: If your body isn’t nourished, nothing else works properly. Body, mind, spirit, they all feel the hit. Moreso than you can imagine.
The Dark Side: Dragging through days is the norm, 'cause that's all you know. The episodes come in phases, vary in intensity and pop up in any body part. Hit after hit takes its toll mentally and physically, leading down a long road of frustration, fatigue and depression. Not to be taken lightly at all, since that person who has Celiac, blames herself and feels like a failure. Oh, keep in mind, that when your body isn't nourished, your brain is on the glitch, leading to another array of food sensitivities and mental health issues.
The Brighter Side: Every glitch builds awareness, that in turn unveils some sort of weird pattern to give hope for a healthier way to 'be'. Just as the artist is driven to see the canvas complete, Missy Moo shares with you, stories to ignite a spark through some darker days.
Missy Moo Knows – Premium Fuel Only
Once upon a driveway, Missy Moo was rolled out as a top-of-the-line car. She had all the bells and whistles of her day, promised to have the best fuel efficiency, and looked like she could go on forever.
Back then, every car was fueled with diesel. Gasoline was but a seed, waiting to be discovered. The moment Missy Moo hit the road, trouble started. No one knew what to do. She was loved so much that the owners couldn't let her go. Sadly she never quite lived up to expectations.
So, she sat, a little polish here, a little tinker there. Something to be at over the winter months, they'd say. While the cobwebs stretched from her rear view mirrors to her hood, Missy Moo knew she wasn't going far.
Then the K-Car was born, a nice reliant automobile. Everyone bought one! It ran smooth, took regular gasoline and even had a station wagon option for all the family needs. Fortunately for Missy Moo, the K-Car stirred up some inklings about fuel could do.
Years later, low and behold, the truth was told. Missy Moo had never been broken at all! She simply needed premium gasoline and no one knew of such a thing. It wasn’t the parts that let her down, it was the damn fuel all along.
And just like that, Missy Moo was siphoned clean of diesel, filled up with premium, and brought back to life. She sputtered, squealed, rattled off the dust, and felt a spark down deep inside.
Of course, some parts were too worn to fix or replace. Missy Moo had to learn how to drive again. Believe me, she was scared. For so long she thought she was just built wrong. More than once she was ready to throw in the stick shift.
It took a lot of strength to polish her up, and spark by spark, her good parts held onto the tired ones and off she went, over speed bumps, up and down hills, even over curbsides when she felt like it.
Premium fuel and a spark in her rear - She was finally herself!
Here’s the truth: Missy Moo isn’t just a car. She’s everybody with Celiac disease and diesel is gluten. Premium fuel is the nourishment her system was waiting for all along. It was never the body that failed her, it was the fuel. As long as she keeps her tank filled right and her parts polished, she’ll be driving into the sunsets and beyond.
Missy Moo knows and now you do too.
