Cindy’s CrockPot RoastYummy

Spread the contents of a small jar of horseradish around the outside of the roast before placing in stoneware for a savory, aromatic twist on this classic roast. (Optional)

3.5-4lb roast

¼ c. flour

2 tsp salt

3 carrots

1 stalk celery, sliced

1 cup mushrooms, sliced

3 tbsp flour (I used almond flour due to my own food sensitivity)

¼ c. water

3-4 potatoes or sweet potatoes if desired

Directions

Combine ¼ cup flour, salt and pepper and coat meat. It is not necessary, but I then seared it in skillet before placing in stoneware toseal in juices.

Place all veggies, except mushrooms,  in stoneware. Top with the roast, spread the mushrooms over roast, Cover and place stoneware in slow cooker on LOW for 10-12 hours OR HIGH for 6-8 hours.

To thicken gravy, if desired, make a paste out of 3 tablespoons flour and water and stir into liquid in stoneware.

Serves 6-8 and makes them very happy.
